The Pacific NoThe Northwest Mustang Club is sponsoring the 2nd Annual Spring Show & Shine on May 26 and 27, 2012

The schedule of events includes a Saturday May 26 Lunch Cruise leaving the Dairy Queen parking lot (Jadwin Ave between Willams and Symons) at 11:30.  Quoting the website, “We’ll cruise through Benton City and on to Prosser via the Old Inland Empire Highway.  It’s the slow, scenic road on the north side of the Yakima River opposite the bustle of I-82.  We predict the drive will take about an hour.” An informal Pre-Show & Shine is scheduled for 5:30 pm on Saturday evening.

The Car Show will be on Sunday, May 27th, at the Howard Amon Park, Richland, Washington from 9-3:30 pm, with a 9am registration. Voting is from 12 to 2, and an awards ceremony is at 3.

Event highlights include music by DJ Lon Martin, a VFW Color Guard and food by O’Callahans; with snacks, vendors, raffle prizes and a door prize ticket included with your registration.

Trophies will be awarded for the top three cars in each of 38 classes. A sampling is shown below. Additional awards will also be given for Club Participation, Hard Luck Story, and Longest Distance Driven.  The 2 top prizes — (1) The Participants’ Choice Best of Show and (2) The Best Boss, will be chosen by the presidents of the attending Mustang clubs.

White Appliance Finishes are Preferred Over Stainless.
We know it is hard to believe but buyers are indicating a preference for white appliances over stainless steel. The reason? They just want something different, and possibly looking for appliances that are easier to keep looking clean. The refrigerator inventory in stores is full of stainless so it may take a while to see the full range of your favorite models in white.

The Desire for Granite is Cooling.
While granite is still in popular and wide use, there are many viable less expensive equally green options coming available. A poll of 2800 voters on HookedOnHouses.com may provide some insight on buyer preferences for granite.

Pullout Faucets.
Pullout faucets are replacing standard faucets with a side spray, reports  the NKBA in a news release, saying “Designers are increasingly eschewing the standard faucet with a detached side spray in favor of pull-out models that integrate the two functions into a single unit.”
